Our client is looking for a Social Care worker to join their children’s residential service based on the outskirts of Sligo in a small village. The service consists of 3 services users and the role is a mixture of 12 hours shifts.

The role is open to all on a Full time, Part time or Relief basis. They have something for everyone.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct care and support to service users, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being.
  • Assist individuals with personal care tasks, including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
  • Support service users with their medication management, following prescribed guidelines.
  • Develop and implement care plans tailored to meet individual needs and goals.
  • Encourage and promote social interaction, companionship, and recreational activities.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals, families, and colleagues to ensure coordinated care.
  • Monitor and record service users’ progress, maintaining accurate and up-to-date documentation.
  • Respond appropriately to emergencies and critical situations, prioritizing the welfare of individuals.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in social care or a related field is preferred.
  • Relevant qualifications in social care
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trusting relationships.
  • Excellent communication and listening skills.
  • Compassionate, patient, and understanding nature.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • A valid driver’s license is desirable but not essential.
