Intellectual Disability – Staff Nurse

Our Client is a long established intellectual disability voluntary organisation for adults and children. They have locations based across North Cork inc Charlivelle, Mallow, Dromina, Newtownshandrum, Buttevant, Newmarket, Mitchelstown etc

Our Client is looking for a staff nurses to join them on a full time permanent basis. Locations is based on where is closest to you!

The role of a staff nurse for intellectual disability typically involves:

• Assessing the health needs of individuals with intellectual disabilities, including conducting physical exams, taking medical histories, and monitoring symptoms.
• Developing care plans that address the unique needs of each individual, including medical treatments, medications, and specialized therapies.
• Administering medications, treatments, and therapies as prescribed by a physician or other healthcare provider.
• Providing basic nursing care, such as taking vital signs, assisting with activities of daily living, and providing emotional support.
• Educating individuals with intellectual disabilities and their families on self-care, healthy habits, and managing their conditions.
• Collaborating with other healthcare professionals, such as physicians, therapists, and social workers, to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care.
